Book: jQuery in ActionThere are very few technical books that I read, or use as an ongoing resource, which allow me to state with confidence that they are worth the money I paid. jQuery in Action would be one such book. Of course, in the interest of full disclosure, I did not pay for the book. I was given a digital copy by the publisher for review. Nonetheless, these pages are packed full of API documentation and tutorials, and if I were just beginning my journey with jQuery, I would pay for jQuery in Action. Continue reading.

Book review: jQuery Reference Guide

Book: jQuery Reference GuideMy very first programming reference book was the JavaScript Bible. I liked it so much I wore the coating off the cover, eventually the binding ripped, and pages started falling out in chunks. Every reference since has had the unfortunate luck of being judged by that standard. The jQuery Reference Guide is no different, but I am happy to write I am still pleasantly surprised by this book. Book review: Learning jQuery

Book: Learning jQueryOne complaint of just about any book that attempts to teach a new language or technology is a presumed level of expertise by the authors. I found it refreshing that in Learning jQuery the book begins… well, at the beginning, and increases in difficulty along with the concepts. It gives designers and entry-level interface developers the opportunity to come up to speed at an acceptable pace. Continue reading.
